  • i adored sayaka murata's convenience store woman when i finished the novel a few months back. her newly translated collection of short stories, life ceremony, explores many of the same themes with more pronounced horror.
  • watched my second hitchcock movie (strangers on a train) and it ruled.
  • i participated in goncharov game jam and the entries were a lot of fun to go through. i couldn't get everything to work on my mac, unfortunately, but played all the games available. i particularly enjoyed creating goncharov[1] and the other entry that used tape window engine[2].
  • a group of children in an apartment complex are absolutely horrific to each other and everyone else in the innocents. didn't know a thing about this film before starting it, and that was for the best—a truly dire watching experience!
  • guillermo del toro's pinocchio surprised me in that a lot of elements weren't working while i was watching, but i still ended up loving it for its artistry and new perspective on the source material. hope to see more classic story retellings like this in the near future.
