Books
  • A Taste for Poison, Neil Bradbury
Nonfiction. Details eleven different poisons, how they kill, and who used them.
  • Ripley's Game, Patricia Highsmithi nearly cheered out loud when ripley showed up in the middle of the book lol…he was pretty absent until then. he's my favorite weird guy!

there seems to be a general consensus that the latter ripley novels are significantly less homoerotic/queer/etc. than the first, but i think there's a lot of room to explore re: his relationship with jonathan, the picture framer. there are also a lot of offhand descriptions, like tom admitting he "had a love of house and home usually found only in women".

if the ripley miniseries ever continues, i'd love to see this book adapted—considering netflix's track record, though, it seems unlikely. still, i can dream...!

Crime, thriller. In the third installment of the Tom Ripley novels, the titular character becomes involved with a British picture framer and the Italian Mafia.
